Too seriouslY

I think I take myself too seriously sometimes. But it's usually only at night that this happens. Hmmm. What should I do about it? I'm serious. Seriously. Seriousness. :-) It's odd that I take myself too seriously at nighttime because that's usually when I look the most ridiculous. For example, currently my hair is piled on top of my head with curls sticking out on the left and right side, flat in the middle. I have a LXA security (yellow) shirt on, with white face cream on, blue striped pj pants and leopard slippers. Oh, yeah, and dark red lipstick on. Odd...

Love

I've been thinking a lot about love lately, so I figured I'd post some of my favorite love poems on here, for that internet mouse who reads this nonsense....

My absolute favoritest favorite -
SHAKESPEARE'S SONNET 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

NAN TERRELL REED's VASES
Two vases stood on the Shelf of Life
As Love came by to look,
One was of priceless cloisonne,
The other of solid common clay.
Which do you think Love took?

He took them both from the Shelf of Life,
He took them both with a smile;
He clasped them both with his finger tips,
And touched them both with caressing lips,
And held them both for a while.

From tired hands Love let them fall,
And never a word was spoken.
One was of priceless cloisonne,
The other of solid common clay.
Which do you think was broken?

IF YOU BUT KNEW - Unknown (I don't feel like formatting anymore)

If you but knewHow all my days seemed filled with dreams of you,How sometimes in the silent nightYour eyes thrill through me with their tender light,How oft I hear your voice when others speakHow you 'mid other forms I seek ~Oh, love more real than through such dreams were true If you but knew.Could you but guessHow you alone make all my happiness,How I am more than willing for your sakeTo stand alone, give all and nothing take,Nor chafe to think you bound while I am free,Quite free, till death, to love you silently,Could you but guess.Could you but learnHow when you doubt my truth I sadly yearnTo tell you all, to stand for one brief spaceUnfettered, soul to soul, as face to face,To crown you king, my king, till life shall end,My lover and likewise my truest friend,Would you love me, dearest, as fondly in return,Could you but learn?

Ooooh, and I just found this one -------

AFTER A WHILE - Veronica A. Shoffstall
After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learnthat kisses aren't contracts and
presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of a a woman
not the grief of a child
And you learnto build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way
of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn and you learn
with every GOODBYE you learn.

Another stolen IM message...

"Interestingly, almost 400 yrs. after the foundation of the Puritans' plymouth colony, the state of MA became the 1st to guarantee the constitutionality of gay marriage. This act was misconstrued as a bold move forward in the cause of equality, but in reality was just a hilarious 'f*ck you' to the pilgrams"

In the meadow we can build a snowman.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Christmastime! Yay-ya! I spent all of work today (except for when I was checking my email, of course) decorating our office with old school elementary-style construction paper crafts. It rocks.

Discovered that 101.3fm is now playing non-stop Christmas music so I feel as if I've been given the go-ahead to feel jolly and look at holly.

Merry Christmas Season!

Poke-A-Nose

I had a really great time in the Poconos w/Matt and my family. Matt's a really great, fun, smart, sexy guy and I hope he knows it.

Now I'm busy cleaning off my keyboard. I HATE when keyboards, mouses, computers and phones get dirty and grimy. Yuck. Clean , clean , clean.

Editorial Nation

I could equally condemn and praise this editorial statement but I want to hear what you think...

How Comes?!

How come people'll comment when I have political opinions to express but no one will comment when I'm addressing the larger issues of the human condition?
